Our story:
Hailing 3 doors down from each other, Sam’s bad breakup was just the thing she needed to meet Mickey. After being consoled over forcibly eaten cupcakes, Sam was ready to pass her number off to any guy willing to belay her, but never date her. Jokes on her, when Mickey invited her for a week of living in a cramped hotel room to learn ice climbing, she was smitten and unable to exit the vehicle after he told her he loved her. A few months later, they Uhaul’d into Sam’s place and she gave Mickey a spring-form pan to commemorate the occasion. He has since, not upheld his end of the bargain of unlimited cheesecake, though other baked goods have nearly sufficed.
After many adventures in Colorado, they took their talents to Portland where they now reside. They fell in love with the outdoors of the Northwest which made a beautiful backdrop for a surprise proposal in Squamish. Donning their best Hawaiian shirts, their crew of close friends scaled a wall to pop champagne and surprise Sam. Luckily, she couldn’t exit the vehicle again and agreed to marriage. It’s been a wonderful journey growing together and now coming to this moment where they can celebrate their love with those that mean the most to them.
The Bride
Hailing from Manila, this short stack of Filipino spunk and cosmopolitan attitude has captured my heart. I was just supposed to be a rebound belaytionship, but instead I’ve stuck around to be a male role model for our goodest boi and to torment Sam with big alpine adventures. Her smile means everything to me and I can’t wait to check life goals alongside the personal ones with someone so wonderful.
The Groom
They say don’t go chasing waterfalls, but no one said anything about frozen ones, especially when it’s chasing freezing epics with someone who looks suspiciously like Ryan Reynolds. Mickey somehow convinced me to live in a motel with him for two weeks while he taught me how to ice climb (after only knowing him for a month), and it was the best decision I ever made. His heart is as big as the mountains he drags me up to, he’s the reason our dog thinks love = snacks and long hikes, and despite my many complaints, he’s my favorite “yes” in every adventure I’ve had and for the ones yet to come.
Meet the wedding party
-

Ann Huang
MAID OF HONOR
Sam’s actual soulmate and the one person Mickey has to compete with for attention (Huck not included)
-

Caitlin Stone
OFFICIANT
My favorite sister and the only person I’d want standing up with us officiating our wedding.
-

Drew Mueller
CO-BEST MAN / KING OF THE SLOPPER
Drew and I became best buds traveling around racing dirtbikes; he’s the reason why I got so into the 2-wheeled death machines and the best goon rider I know.
-
John Schallert
CO-BEST MAN
John has been one of my best friends since high school. We’ve spent a lot of time together, from roommates to countless hours in the back of trucks telling dirtbike adventure stories.
The reason why we’re even here
-

Catherine Agoncillo
MOTHER OF THE BRIDE
The most selfless person I know, and the reason behind the eyebrows everyone is jealous of. She even once braved a huge typhoon just to bring me to an anime convention, and will move mountains to make sure I have a ride to and from the airport. Her approval means the world, and I knew Mickey was special because he is the only boyfriend she’s ever truly liked (I think even more than me). Thank you for your unwavering support and being the best spa partner to eat stale chips with.
-

Toni Castro
FATHER OF THE BRIDE
It’s easy to be a daddy’s girl when you have the coolest dad in town dropping you off at school on a motorcycle every morning. He’s responsible for my adventurous spirit and iron tendons, putting me in a harness when I was barely out of diapers. Thank you for teaching me to enjoy every moment in life, even the quiet ones, like when we both inevitably fall asleep five minutes into any movie or show.
-

Sandy Silger
MOTHER OF THE GROOM
Staying around her hometown of St. Charles, she signed up for every position imaginable to support me through to college: boy scout troop leader, band mom, scorekeeper, etc. Thank you for all the support over the years.
-

Michael Silger
FATHER OF THE GROOM
From the cornfields of Illinois, he took up every coaching position available until high school. Luckily a documentary from the 70s got him hooked on dirtbikes and subsequently led me to my greatest adventures.
